We like to think that we are very hands on at every site. Elizabeth (Liz) Ferguson supervises the Montessori Schools. Mona Stephens oversees the Home Childcare, Family Resource Centre, and Kids’ Club services. Although we consult and work together regularly, we are each responsible for the overall management of specific programs. We honour and pay tribute to the ancestors of African origin and descendants.Īs founders of Day Care Connection/Downtown Montessori School (DTMS), our goal is to provide consistent, transparent, and creative direction for all of our programs. We also acknowledge those of us who came here involuntarily, particularly as a result of the transatlantic slave trade. Many of us have come here as settlers, immigrants, and newcomers in this generation or generations past. We are mindful of broken covenants and strive to make this right with the land and with each other. We are grateful to have the opportunity to learn on this land. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
